The Best of Both - Team up

York Barbell UK and British Weight Lifting (BWL) have officially teamed up to utilise the expertise and skills of both to deliver a single message....

“As a nation we need to get fitter and healthier”.

The benefits of weight training for general health and sports performance have long been accepted, so with York having 75 years’ experience in producing some of the finest strength and fitness equipment and BWL having 100 years of history in developing athletes and delivering Weightlifting Courses.....it makes senses for the two to collaborate in delivering the message JOINTLY.

To mark this new partnership and BWL’s Centenary year, York has opened the doors of the recently completed York Performance Centre in Daventry so that BWL can offer courses and workshops to schools ,colleges , sports clubs and the general public to educate everyone in the benefits of exercise ,strength training and performance training for anyone from 8 to 88.

A bit about BWL:

British Weight Lifting was formed in 1911 (originally called the British Weightlifters’ Association-BWLA) and is the National Governing Body for Weightlifting and Disability Powerlifting in the UK.

One of its purposes is to demonstrate how Weightlifting can contribute towards a stronger , healthier lifestyle.

Over the coming months York will be developing products, backed by the expertise of BWL and other associations and institutions to ensure the nation has access to the right equipment based upon their age and needs. With the inclusion of correct information to allow users to train and maximise the benefits of weight training.
